This Is Some of My Older Work
This work was done 12/19/97
Very late, when I should have been sleeping...
The Tall Ships

I stand there alone thinking
Of Places I could go
if only I were a Seaman
To live in the ship below
The sails that blow so freely
With each new gust of wind
Someplace new to explore
Someplace where I have never been
The Tall Ships just sit there waiting
For the wind to fill the sails
Someone told me that the cargo hold
Was really filled with gunja bales...
As we sat there, on deck late one night
Looking over dark water at the whales
Drifting rudderlessly, into the night
A pair of souls, forever lost, and for sale
These are The Tall Ships
These are all tall tales
